The aim of this final work was to design and make a booklet about the basic techniques of felting. The text and photographs were executed by the author. At this stage the booklet is in prototype format and written in Finnish, but in the future it will be translated to Slovene. The author’s awareness of the lack of suitable books in this language was the inspiration for the work. Firstly the author analysed the contents of three felting books to ascertain the correct ’feel’ and content required by a book on this subject; taking into consideration the aspects of both quality and quantity. The results were tabulated. However the author sought to imbue the work with her own personal response to these books in order to allow it to work as a genuine piece of literature. It was the author’s express intention within this project to present the historical and contemporary situation within Slovenian felting; it is concluded using the collected opinions of felting teachers to evaluate the end product through open interview.
