The new User Image Tool – picture study program was used in the final work. The program works on the Internet. It was developed for user and customer research needed in the field of product development. User Image Tool was invented by ´Designpark – a project based education and service outline´ at Kuopio Academy of Design. The objective of the final work was to learn how to use User Image Tool – program and how to exploit it for textile designing. According to the results, the program can be benefited throughout the designing process. It can be used, for example, for consumer survey, chart images and collecting feedback at the end of the process. The research was planned for and conducted at two companies in Kuopio. There were works of textile art in those offices. The works had been designed and manufactured at Kuopio Academy of Design. The objective was to receive feedback from the particular works of textile art. The feedback was analysed and reported. Alternative applications for exploiting User Image Tool were looked for relying on the results of the research. Information on images, visuality, meanings of pictures and cognition were looked for in order to support the research. The target groups of the final work were the Textile Designing Department of Kuopio Academy of Design, as well as textile and interior designers.
