In this study a bag was designed and manufactured by weaving on the hand loom. The study was custom-built and the client was the artist Moosa Myllykangas. The basis of the design was the copper thread, which Moosa Myllykangas uses as a material in her works of art. Linen thread was also used along with the copper to give the surface of the bag a vivid look. Special attention was paid to the aesthetic characteristics and the functionality of the piece. Economical profitability for manufacturing on a small scale was a major concern. In the study technical and practical interest in the subject is utilised. The logic in the reasoning is abductive and the study is qualitative. The designing process of the bag proceeded from the binding and structure testing done by weaving samples for the ready product. Together with Moosa Myllykangas the final binding and model of the bag was chosen.
