In this final project work you can get familiar with the giftware produced by hand or industrially on a small-scale. Gift articles are sold in the Nature shop Vakka located in The Heritage Centre Ukko in Koli. In the final project work the author studied customers` opinion about the giftware by means of an inquiry analysis. In this final project work the author wanted to know, what customers thought about gift articles. Did they think that the price of the product was correct in proportion to its quality? What goods are not suitable for the Nature shop Vakka? Was the product range good enough in Nature shop Vakka? Did the customers like the display of the giftware? The research was performed with 95 inquiry forms between March to September in 2003. The answers of the inquiry forms were analysed. The answers were studied as a number of cases or as a percentage. In addition to that answers were interpreted by means of content analysis. There were 58 % women and 37 % men in the research and the largest number of answerers were between the age of 35 and 59. They were about 50 % of all answerers. 15 % of all answerers had the opinion that the giftware in the Nature shop Vakka was of a good quality and the other 15 % had the opinion that the giftware reminded them about nature. 10 % of answerers had the opinion that the giftware were usable. Just over 80 % of all the answerers thought that the giftware were at least well suitable for the Nature shop Vakka at least good. There were German soft toys, to which some customers paid attention because they were produced abroad. The customers generally paid attention to how domestic the products are. Over 70% of all answerers did not think that it was necessary to increase the number of giftware because there were products at least enough for them use or the number of products was quite sufficient in the Nature shop. About 20% had the opinion that there could be even more giftware in the shop. Over 70 % were pleased with the display in the Nature shop Vakka. There was not any single product or a range of products that they wanted to add to the assortment of the Nature shop Vakka although they mostly wanted woolly, knitted or felted handicrafts like accessories and footwear. The answerers generally wanted fairly traditional works made of wool, wood, clay or stone. There was not also any wish of novelties.
