INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS

The international operations of Kuopio Academy of Design support its overall development in culture and the arts. The international operations are conducted in accordance with the objectives and policies laid down in the curriculum and the R&D plan. They are regarded as a channel for professional networking for students and teachers, and for experts as a means of seeking and establishing R&D partnerships in support of their own operations. Its international connections are also a means for Kuopio Academy of Design to enhance and supplement its own specialist know-how.

The aim of the international operations at Kuopio Academy of Design is for students to learn, while still undergraduates, to understand and encounter today’s increasingly international working life. By the time students complete their training, they will have acquired the attitudes, knowledge and skills required for this. The aim is also to increase the mobility of the students and teaching staff and to develop the contents of the degree programmes and their international comparability. The degrees completed at Kuopio Academy of Design must be internationally comparable and the quality of the tuition of a high international standard.

International operations take the form of staff, student and trainee exchanges, expert partnerships and visits both through EU programmes and under bilateral agreements.
