THE KUOPIO DESIGN ACADEMY (TAITEMIA) LIBRARY Borrowing and use of the collections There is no charge for use or borrowing. The loan periods vary. Published material is usually lent out for two weeks at a time. Loans are returned to the info point. Cameras, video cameras, camera tripods, tape recorders, slide projectors, overhead projectors and other equipment are lent out for use within the Academy for two days at a time. There are specific instructions for use of some of the items in the Library. Theses, archive material, ethnological collection notes and manuscripts, for example, are available for use only within the Library. The Library has a copier operated by copier cards for the use of its clients. Colour copiers, which also work as printers, are to be found in the Library, the Graphic Design Department and on the 3rd floor of the Turo building on Niiralankatu. The b/w and colour copiers all use the same copier cards. A charge is made for copies made by the Library according to the ongoing rates. The Library’s interlibrary lending service obtains literature from Finnish and foreign libraries not found in its own collections. Clients can also order copies of articles through this service. The instructions of the interlending libraries and the rules of the sender library are observed. A charge is made for interlibrary loans and copies according to the ongoing rates. |
