STUDY GUIDANCE We guide and support students in the learning process and the development of expertise so that they may learn to recognise their own fields of competence and strengths as cultural experts, and help them to clarify their concepts of themselves as learners and future professionals. Throughout their training students are backed by a safety network consisting of study counsellors, tutors in professional subjects, student tutors, study administration personnel and the health care organisation. We use a study guidance plan that is regularly evaluated. The professional command of the teachers and project staff, their contacts with working life and their own experiences of entrepreneurship give students confidence as they enter into projects and employment. The study guidance is a tool for the student in study founded on personal autonomy and responsibility and in drawing up an individual study plan. The aim is for the student to achieve commitment, professional and personal growth, and the overall study objectives. By the time they graduate and proceed to employment, students have gained wide experience at many levels in the various stages of their training. The basic skills developed in the basic professional studies pave the way for the professionally-oriented training. The project objectives are defined at the start of the training, the emphasis being on helping the student to understand the various stages in the execution of the project and on practising their professional skills. General knowledge of design and the basic cultural and communication skills required for the field in question create the context within which students continue to establish their personal orientation in their own specialisation areas. |
