TAITEMIA LIBRARY Databases Most of the Academy Library databases are reference databases containing references to books, articles, etc. Some of the databases are factual databases giving addresses, etc., or full text databases, such as encyclopaedias or press articles. Clients can search the databases themselves in the Library. The databases in the Academy network can be accessed from the Savonia Polytechnic workstations. There is no charge for end users. Database searches can also be ordered for a fee from the Information Service. Database producers use different search programs. The programs are increasingly menu-driven and have a help facility and some have quick guides. Searches can be carried out by, for example, author, title, or abstract keywords.
