The work is description of the design process of the Sportti caps. The principal of the design is the Knitco Ltd, which is a company manufactoring caps and headdresses in Kuopio. TT-Future is a customer of the Knitco Ltd and the Sportti caps will be designed for their sportswear 2001-2002 collection. The report is on the earlier design works of the author for the Knitco Ltd. The author has been designing knitted caps and fleecehats as a freelancer for the Knitco Ltd since 1998. There are many patterns used by Pirkko Anttila in the raport. The auther has worked up those patterns to represent her ideas better. The focus of the work is on the design of the Sportti caps. The object is design new cap models rather than new patterns to basic caps. The caps are designed for amateur skiers and other fresh-air friends. The basis of the design is the earlier experience of the author on headresses. The author has made the design independently and the work has proceeded through model meetings to completed sketches. The Knitco Ltd made the decision of the caps included to the collection. The author has drawn the pictures of the Sportti cap collection with the Corel Draw-picture handling programme and the patterns and designed with the Designa Knit-knit design programme. As the result of the work is the Sportti cap collection for Knitco Ltd. The wishes of the Knitco Ltd and TT-Future are included in the collection. The Knitco Ltd has made models, from which TT-Future has chosen caps to their sportswear 2001-2002 collection.
