The aim of the present final project work is to design and make a collection of rya rug. The objective is to create a new kind of rya rug to the market as well as combine glass to a weaved product. To begin with, the pile material is designed and made, that is the pile is made of glass. Furthermore, it is also studied how glass pile can be made without any much difficulty. On the basis of the possibilities offered by the new pile material, a collection of rya rugs is designed and made. Trial rugs are weaved according to the designs made a final product is weaved on the basis of the trials. The size of the final rya rug is 20x20 cm. The same pattern is repeated in all rya rugs, but the colours change. The products are designed to be made in small scale and are put up for sale. Finally, the price is set for the rya rugs as well as the target group and the use environment are determined.
