This final project work examines how woven textiles suit the needs of wedding bouquet arranging. In Finland bridal bouquet arranging has developed considerably in the last ten years and that is why many new bridal bouquet styles and designs have replaced the old ones. The purpose of this final project work is to try to find out some new and practical ideas for bridal bouquets. In addition the aim is to develop such designs, which are profitable and practical from the aspect of marketing and production. At first this work handles the history of bouquet arranging and its fashions from past to present day. After that the work treats the 21st century fashion and trend, which is examined a little bit closer. Also the maker of this final project work tells something about her own experiences which she has got during her work as a florist. The work takes a wide aspect and tells about those basic factors, which have to be taken into notice during making bridal bouquets. Those factors include the suitability of bridal bouquet for the bride, the nature of the occasion, the way that bouquet has to be carried, its freshness and lastingness. When creating a new model the process begins by considering the criteria set and by studying the factors to be noticed when making a bridal bouquet from the aspect of a client and the maker. Those are the starting-points for beginning the process of composing, planning, developing and making a model. While making samples there has to be experiments of several different materials and also consideration of the suitability of those materials into specific purposes. When samples are finished there has to be a selection of the best alternatives for making the final models. During the making process it is also important to try some different hardeners and to examine their effect on the woven textile. Five pieces of the final flower arranging frames are woven. After this the author makes a model bridal bouquet to those five arranging frames and estimates how they will function in use. When the bridal bouquets are finished the author discusses the profitability of sale, the ways of marketing and also the possibilities in production. This final project work has no client because the maker has thought that she will be specialized in this field in the future. This work is directed to people, who are interested in flower arranging, to florists and also to that kind of weaving professionals, who are interested in co-operating with florists.
