The present final project work is a subjective assignment of creative expression in which the course of creative process is described. As background information the author writes a short essay about creativity and inspiration. Emphasis is, however, in the creation of a textile artwork. The author studies the development of the work from the origin of subject and idea through pruning, selection and development to a complete artwork. The author gets to know the most common questions and principles in arts and aesthetics. The personal creative process has great meaning in the work. The author studies the process through diary. The objective of the work is to get to know creativity and inspiration through literature and personal creative process. The author searches information to backup personal process and to get background information. The work includes background information from definitions of art and essence, the interpretation of art, creativity, its features, subareas, development, creative personality, creative process, intuition and inspiration. The author considers her career choice through personal process. The purpose of the process is to create a new textile artwork. In the work finding the meaning and essence of creativity and inspiration as well as the personal relationship of the author to them is pursued. The author pursues to find out from where her ideas come from, how they evolve, what factors have an influence on the birth and development of the artwork and how does all that make the author feel. This work is an individual event in a young person’s life, maybe a person starting her career, who does creative work. In her own work the author finds several junctions to the background theory study. The observation of herself, nearby people and environment produce most of the ideas. Especially situations, where the author notices someone pronouncing an exiting and noteworthy sentence, are productive according to the author. One idea often leads to other ideas. Some ideas need to be abandoned maybe fast, but good ideas start leading the mind to unpredictable directions. Inspiration is movement of the mind. Mind processes ideas subconsciously and is led by strong emotions. Often subjects arose when the mind was discontent and depressed. Ideas arose also during technical implementation of the work. As an important factor the author sees that the mind needs time and loneliness to produce ideas.
