This final project work is a cultural historical field study about the lifelong hobby of doing handicrafts of one Mother. The inventory work was made in situation, where the material had to be analysed and a decision had to be made what is to be done with the material in the future due to the author moving house. During 40 years a large number of textile works had been accumulated in the detached house. In this situation the textile designer daughter undertook to examine more closely the history of her Mother's textile work. The report is a description of this field study. In addition to this report a portfolio has been composed. it is a homage to the textile handiwork, which the unexpectedly paralysed Mother had made during the last five decades from 1950 to 2000. Nearly every single textile product has been photographed and listed. The portfolio attempts to describe the number and versatility of the handiwork. |
