Samples of fabric printing have been designed and produced in this final project work for Ingman College of Crafts and Design.
The samples have been printed onto white cotton fabric. The dye-pastes used are produced by Emo-tuotanto. These dye-pastes are water soluble and need to be heated for fastening. The samples are made to complete those already in use at the Ingman College of Crafts and Design.
In these samples simple fabric-decorating methods are presented. In some of the samples the practice of colour theory; mixing the secondary colours, complementary colours and how the basic colour effects the pattern have been presented.
These samples will be used on the basic fabric printing course for interior textile designers. The samples will help to motivate the students to consider both the technique and the possibilities of using colours creatively.
